The way that I live my life is directly related to the way I think. Our thoughts are powerful. They can make us or break us. As I considered this, I could not help myself but share with you about what a transformational thinking process can do to the human ability to survive. What you feed your mind is what it produces! Great and positive thoughts result in great and positive outcomes. As I grow in my awareness of who I am as a specially designed being, I am becoming more centered in the power that I have received as a disciple of Jesus Christ. All who have subscribed to the discipleship of Jesus will agree that when you receive the Holy Spirit there is an amazing conviction that leads us to correction – not condemnation. In such a case, we believe that our thoughts and desires are led by this higher power who comes in and interrupts our human nature and provides a spiritual perspective. This may be taboo for many in the world, but it is not for me. Each day I live with the desire to be renewed in my thoughts. My thoughts can direct me to “over the edge thinking.” We are all trying to understand life on this planet and with all the discoveries out there, we must come back to the core. We must realize that man’s thoughts are indeed ordered and where they lead us that is what we do. Where are, your thoughts leading you? Are your thoughts affirming success or failure; confidence or worry; belief or doubt? Whatsoever it may be, are you happy? These are important questions that we must be confronted with daily. Have you?
In my own deliberation and thought process, I am digging deeper to uncover those thoughts that build character through faith and provides me with completeness. Proverbs 23 verse 7 reveals a sincere truth: “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, But his heart is not with you.” Are your thoughts making or breaking you?
We are governed by the thoughts that fill our minds. The British philosophical writer James Allen took this message even further in his profound work: “As a man thinketh.” His prowess brings to light some enhanced truth to mankind’s many flaws in the way we think. When we pray, it is often with a desire that we already see, but with an over the edge thinking we go beyond to reach within.
“Man is manacled only by himself…Not what he wishes and prays for does a man get, but what he justly earns. His wishes and prayers are only gratified and answered when they harmonize with his thoughts and actions…. The calm man, having learned how to govern himself, knows how to adapt himself to others; and they, in turn, reverence his spiritual strength, and feel that they can learn of him and rely upon him. The more tranquil a man becomes, the greater is his success, his influence, his power for good. Even the ordinary trader will find his business prosperity increase as he develops a greater self-control and equanimity, for people will always prefer to deal with a man whose demeanor is strongly equable.” James Allen – “As a man thinketh”
As you and I work to develop an over the edge thinking in life, we must not become impaired by the environment around us. I am blessed by the words of James Allen today and believe you will have the same experience. To get to our desired goals we need to understand that it starts with our mindset. Where are, our thoughts taking us? Are they bringing us high or low?
“He who has conquered doubt and fear has conquered failure. His every thought is allied with power, and all difficulties are bravely met and wisely overcome. His purposes are seasonably planted, and they bloom and bring forth fruit which does not fall prematurely to the ground.” ~ James Allen
Get up and move into your purpose today. If nothing else means anything to you, your purpose should guide you to the truth. Jesus Christ said it well, …“If you continue in My word, you are truly My disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” ~ John 8:31-32. We really have control over who we are if we allow our thoughts to find the clarity it needs to help us achieve more. Let us take today and the rest of our lives to channel our thoughts in the direction that brings us self-control, resolution, purity, righteousness – thoughts that cause us to ascend. You can be more, live more, and dream more!
Thought in the mind hath made us. What we are
By thought we wrought and built. If a man’s mind
Hath evil thoughts, pain comes on him as comes
The wheel the ox behind . . . If one endure in purity
of thought joy follows him as his own shadow – sure. ~ James Allen
